Hi there, and welcome to Email Marketing - Build Your List. Here we are going to look at the different ways you can start building your contact list – and things you can do right now. A good place to start is by having a look at some of your favourite websites and using an analytical eye to see how each one tries to persuade visitors into joining their email database. This is a great practice to do each week with a few different websites and keeping note of what you like and dislike.
We’ll examine a few of your options, including using database acquisition tools, landing pages and pop-up builders. You’ll also learn how to craft your own lead magnets (or freebies) to draw viewers in by offering an incentive in return for their email address. You’ll also be learning about a controversial, yet effective part of email marketing – cold emailing. Whilst conversion rates are low, it’s a numbers game, and if your volumes are high enough, you can see a worthwhile return on investment.
